Across the region on Wednesday 1st August, people are celebrating all things Yorkshire for Yorkshire Day.
The annual day of celebration was set up 1975 to promote the county of Yorkshire, with local businesses across the area promoting their passion for the region.
We are proud to be working with so many manufacturing and engineering companies in the region, all looking to champion industry in Yorkshire. Manufacturing is synonymous across the whole of Yorkshire and culturally intertwined across the whole area. To this day, Yorkshire & Humber’s manufacturing output is far greater than the national average. The sector’s influence on Yorkshire is something that we should be incredibly proud of and celebrate as much as possible.
Unlike some regions of the UK which are known for working in one sector, Yorkshire manufacturing leads the way in a wide range of industries. From steel forgers in Sheffield to wine makers in Aike, there are so many companies making things and boosting the regional economy.
At Made in Yorkshire, we’ll be celebrating Yorkshire day by showcasing those going the extra mile to promote themselves as Yorkshire businesses.
