Made in Yorkshire News are a Made in Yorkshire Gold Member
Berendsen joined Made in Yorkshire back in February as a gold member, and this week saw them host their breakfast event. Around 20 decision makers from Yorkshire’s manufacturing and engineering companies arrived at their Wakefield site to network, share best practice and have a tour of their fantastic facility.
The morning began with introductions from all those attending, as well as a few words from MIY’s Council President, John Pendleton. Members were then given an insight into the inner workings of Berendsen with a short presentation from John Webb, General Manager at Berendsen’s Wakefield site. He discussed the issues faced by the business and what they’ve put in place to rectify these issues. As a company they are always looking to continuously improve the way in which they work. This was clear when John invited members to give any feedback during the factory tour if they had any ideas for improvement.
Post-event, MIY sat down with General Manager John Webb to get his thoughts on how he thought the morning went. He advised “I thought it was a great event, not just for me, but for the team to be able to showcase what they do during the factor tour.” When ask about the importance of the Made in Yorkshire networking events John said, “I think it’s important for members to see the wider benefits of networking at these events to evolve and progress each other. For us, we have 43 sites across the UK, so there are opportunities available not just in the Yorkshire hub, but in the wider UK”.
